OU, faculty union make progress during latest bargaining session
During a productive bargaining session today, OU and the faculty union made progress as they continued to exchange proposals, ideas, and possible frameworks to resolve the few major issues remaining before them. The two sides also tentatively agreed to changes to another contract appendix.
OU appreciates the efforts made by both sides to attempt to close the gap in economic proposals. While there is still much work to do, it is encouraging that the gap is narrowing.
OU looks forward to building on today’s momentum at next week’s session on Aug. 28, when the state-appointed mediator will rejoin their discussions. The primary goal remains finding a solution that rewards faculty in a manner that is consistent with keeping the university financial stable, and to do so before the start of fall semester.
