Jonathan Cooper is a multidisciplinary designer & educator with a passion for culture and community. He has experience in agency branding and marketing, in-house experience and interaction design, and freelancing branding and illustration. His focus is a research-driven and empathetic approach to design.
His studio courses focus on developing and defending conceptual thinking, where students are encouraged to think through making, fail fast, and learn the language of design. Through iterative design cycles and critique, his students can expect to deepen their critical thinking and refine their creative problem-solving skills, building a foundation for visual storytelling, grounded in both theory and practice.
He and his partner, Erika, run their studio, ghost co-op. His studio practices feature both client and personal work, where the focus is on the intersection of design and social issues. His work intends to refocus, critique, and improve the structures around us.
He received his BA in graphic design from Oakland University in 2015, and MA in graphic design and visual experience from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2022.
