Oakland University will not hold on-campus, face-to-face classes on Friday, January, 23, 2026, due to severe weather conditions. Faculty should move classes to online throughout the day and notify their students. Students unsure of the status of their classes should contact their instructors for course-specific information. Laboratory sections may be rescheduled.
Employees are expected to report as the university will remain open.
Campus activities outside of classes remain scheduled unless communicated otherwise.
The university appreciates the patience and cooperation of campus community members as efforts are made to balance OU's commitment to delivering quality educational programs with the need to ensure personal safety during severe weather events.
Due to current University Policy 482 being modified through shared governance, the university is implementing interim guidelines until the new policy is in place.
