Gun shots reported off campus

  • Location: Walton Blvd. Near Squirrel

The Oakland University Police Department (OUPD) was notified by the Auburn Hills Police Department (AHPD) that multiple shots were fired into a parked, unoccupied vehicle near the intersection of Walton Boulevard and Squirrel Road.

A dark-colored SUV was observed fleeing the area in an unknown direction. At this time, no additional suspect information is available. No injuries were reported.

OUPD is monitoring the situation and coordinating with local law enforcement. There is no known ongoing threat to the campus community at this time; however, this alert is being issued out of an abundance of caution. The OUPD is not recommending a lockdown of the campus at this time.
