Welcome to the General Education program. To monitor your progress toward degree completion, check your transcript and graduation requirements using Degree Works.

Talk to your academic adviser if you have any questions about General Education - either through First Year Advising Center or through the school or college that offers your major.
- In rare cases, you may run into an exceptional circumstance that does not neatly fit into the General Education requirements. Meet with your adviser to decide whether to complete a Petition of Exception. An authorized professional academic adviser at OU must submit the petition, to be then reviewed by the General Education Committee within roughly eight weeks.
- Petitions for graduating seniors should be submitted at least one semester prior to graduation, to ensure timely evaluation and for the student to make adjustments to their schedule if necessary.
Students interested in transferring to Oakland University should contact the Office of the Registrar for transfer information.
- Once your transcripts have been evaluated, your adviser can help you determine if you need to submit a transfer course review form.
