UWill Mental Health Crisis Line

Available For All Enrolled Oakland Students!
Free 24/7 Mental Health Services

Student success and well-being are top priorities at Oakland University. The focus on mental health and wellness has intensified in recent years. Therefore, Oakland is providing an additional resource to help students with their health and well-being.

Uwill provides the following FREE services for Oakland students:

  • Access to mental health crisis response 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the year.
    • For students facing a mental health crisis, help is available 24/7/365 by calling (833) 646-1526. For a medical emergency, call 911.
    • Service is confidential, secure and private.
    • Uwill is not a replacement for the University’s existing well-established range of mental health services, but rather a compliment to them.
  • Three sessions with a licensed therapist.
    • Choose a therapist based on your preferences (register at Uwill online)
      • Gender, language, ethnicity, focus area
    • Choose a time that fits your schedule
      • Day, night, weekend availability
      • By video, phone, chat or message
  • Access to on-demand wellness programming through Uwill’s easy-to-use online platform.
    • A wide range of wellness options such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and more are available.
    • Discover greater focus and balance as a compliment to therapy!
    • Access Uwill online and choose wellness from the left navigation menu.

Students are encouraged to explore and tap into the services needed. Asking for help is a sign of wisdom, and nothing could be more appropriate in a learning environment. Who is eligible to use Uwill?

This service is available at no cost to enrolled OU students regardless of whether they live on campus or not. 

How does a student get connected with someone who can help?

For a student facing a mental health emergency, Uwill offers access to a crisis connection phone number available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 833-646-1526 for immediate assistance.

How much does Uwill cost?

Uwill is free for enrolled OU students.

Is Uwill replacing the OU Counseling Center?

No. The full continuum of care at Oakland University includes the OU Counseling Center, the Graham Health Center, the School of Education and Human Services Counseling Center, and extensive well-being and outreach initiatives provided by University Recreation and Well-Being. Along with Uwill, these resources are in place to serve students based on their unique circumstances.

Is Uwill confidential?

Yes. Uwill is a confidential, secure and private service.  

How does a student access the on-demand wellness programming?

To access the wellness programming students should visit Uwill online. From there, register using an Oakland University email address. You will receive an email confirmation to complete the registration process. Once a student confirms their email address, the platform will be available.
