Christa was hired in 2011 as costumer for the Department of Dance. In 2014, she was hired to manage the costume shop as well as continuing to serve the Department of Dance. She is a lecturer in Costume Construction, Costume Craft, Draping and Patterning, and Tailoring.

She holds a BS in Mathematics from Michigan Technological University, a BA in Technical Theatre from Oakland University, and a MFA in Costume Design from Wayne State University.

As Costume Shop Manager, Christa is responsible for the production and management of costumes for all performances in the School of Music, Theatre and Dance. She is the resident designer for Oakland Dance Theatre, Take Root Dance Company, and Eisenhower Dance Detroit. Her design credits include Mitch Albom’s Hockey! The Musical, and Shakespeare in the Park’s Taming of the Shrew. She has also designed for The Jet Theatre, The Performance Network, Shakespeare in Detroit, Louisiana State University, Wayne State University and Oakland University with the following productions: TommyMacbeth, Patience, A Street SceneFalstaff, Die Fledermaus, LeNozzi Di Figaro, The Scarlett Pimpernel, God of Carnage, Enter Laughing, 4,000 Miles, The Model Apartment, and Good People. She also works with youth theatre and builds professional ballet tutus for the Youth America Grand Prix ballet competitions in Chicago, Pittsburg and Indianapolis.
