Shelley Davis Boyd

Shelley Davis Boyd is the Founder, President & CEO of Essdee & Co., a leadership development, executive coaching, and speaking firm serving organizations across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience, Boyd is a certified executive coach and certified association executive. She has served in executive leadership roles across the nonprofit, association, and financial services sectors, helping organizations strengthen leadership, culture, and organizational effectiveness.

Boyd has a long history of civic and community leadership. She currently serves as Chair of the Lansing Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, where she was originally appointed by the Mayor in 2016. She also serves as Secretary of the East Lansing Public Library Board of Trustees, to which the East Lansing City Council appointed her in 2025. Throughout her career, she has been committed to expanding opportunity, developing leaders, and strengthening Michigan communities.

Boyd holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baker College and a Master of Business Administration from Northwood University. As a member of the Oakland University Board of Trustees, she is honored to support the university's mission to provide accessible, life-changing educational opportunities and to prepare students to lead with purpose and impact.
