Finance and Administration

Led by Senior Vice President Stephen W. Mackey, the Finance & Administration (F&A) Division encompasses a diverse portfolio of departments that support every aspect of Oakland University's operations and campus experience.

F&A oversees the University's core business functions, including accounting, payroll, purchasing, treasury, budgeting and financial reporting. The Division is also responsible for facilities management, grounds maintenance, environmental health and safety, the Oakland University Police Department, university administrative policies and procedures, university services, and economic development.

In addition, F&A manages key public-private partnership (P3) agreements that enhance the University's mission and community engagement, including the Meadow Brook Theatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre, and community partnerships at the OU West Center.

The Finance & Administration Division is committed to providing exceptional service, promoting operational excellence, and continuously improving the processes that support students, faculty, staff, and the broader university community.

  • 215 employees serving the Oakland University community
  • Two campus locations with 1,468 acres maintained by our grounds crew and patrolled by police officers
  • More than 4.5 million square feet of facilities maintained by custodial staff and skilled trades professionals
  • 7,335 financial funds managed and monitored by our budget and accounting teams
  • More than 70 competitive RFPs, 1,750 purchases and contracts executed annually, totaling over $60 million, along with approximately 200 change orders managed by Purchasing
  • 50,000 packages processed and delivered annually by Central Receiving and Mail Services
  • 30,200 pounds of e-waste and scrap metal recycled through Property Management and Surplus Disposal
