Students are invited to network with employers and explore a wide variety of opportunities during Internship Week February 16-20. Internship week is a coordinated, campuswide series of events designed to connect students with internship opportunities, employers and academic and advising resources across all majors.
During the week, students can get help with their resume, have a professional headshot taken, network with employers and gain insights at student and employer panel discussions.
In addition, the Career and Life Design Center will host an Internship Week Celebration from noon-2 p.m. on Friday, February 20 in 103 North Foundation Hall. The event will feature networking opportunities for employer partners and students to build meaningful connections.
Internship Week marks the one-year anniversary of The OU Pledge, the university’s commitment to provide every undergraduate student with experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, research and study abroad, that will complement their academic studies.
Students can take advantage of the new Iris Air Professional Headshot Photobooth, sponsored by Enterprise Mobility, now permanently stationed in the Career and Life Design Center.
“February is Cooperative Education and Internship Month in Michigan, and Oakland University students are encouraged to take full advantage of the many experiential learning and internship engagement opportunities available,” said Wayne Thibodeau, senior director of the Career and Life Design Center. “OU is proud to have received the official Certificate of Proclamation from Governor Gretchen Whitmer, recognizing the importance of cooperative education and internships in supporting career exploration, employer networking and talent retention across the state. This is a great time for students to connect with employers, build real-world experience, and take meaningful steps toward their future careers right here in Michigan.”
