OU’s Pawley Lean Institute partners with Forgotten Harvest to improve process of addressing food insecurity

The Pawley Lean Institute at Oakland University has partnered with Forgotten Harvest — a non-profit food rescue organization — in support of a Lean Community Service Project that seeks to improve the way agencies like the OU Golden Grizzlies Pantry obtains and distributes food to those in need.

Dr. Jennifer Matthews, a leader in the field of death education and counseling, was recently named chair of OU's Department of Counseling, becoming the first African American to serve in that role.Throughout her career, Dr. Jennifer Matthews has contributed to the understanding of universal, often taboo issues surrounding death, grief and loss.

The Campus Student Organic Farm (CSOF) recently dedicated their newest hoophouse, known as the Salad Palace, with a ribbon-cutting by representatives of key stakeholders. This hoophouse, the latest addition to the farm, was funded by Oakland University Student Congress (OUSC) and was built earlier in the summer, in part by students.
