Deloitte’s Judy Hegelund to kick off SBA Dean’s Executive Speaker series Feb. 12

Oakland University’s School of Business Administration (SBA) will welcome Judy Hegelund, U.S. policy strategy and compliance leader and managing director at Deloitte, for an engaging talk on “Business Chemistry,” spotlighting how individual differences can drive – or derail – team success. 

The event will take place from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, in Elliott Hall’s Janke Auditorium on OU’s campus. It’s the first in the newly launched OU School of Business Administration Dean's Executive Speaker Series, with plans to host one or two speakers in fall and winter semesters.

“We’re excited to launch the SBA Dean’s Executive Speaker Series this semester,” said SBA’s Dean Chuck Pierce. “The executive speaker series is an engaging way for students, faculty, staff and the business community to learn from leading business executives in the region.”

Based on extensive research and analytics, plus years of proven success in the field, the “Business Chemistry” framework provides a simple yet powerful way to identify meaningful differences between people’s working styles. The presentation will tackle questions such as “what makes people click or clash?” “Why do some groups excel and others fumble? And “how can leaders make or break team potential?”

In her role as policy strategy and compliance leader for its U.S. Firm, Hegelund helps drive Deloitte’s people and business strategy. Throughout nearly 26 years with the company, she has built a reputation as a trusted business adviser, with experience in auditing, mergers and acquisitions, and talent and financial leadership, serving internal and external clients. 

Hegelund currently chairs the Oakland University Alumni Association Board, serves on SBA’s Board of Visitors,  and previously served on the OUSBA Accounting and Finance Department Advisory Board. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from OU and is a certified public accountant and chartered global management accountant.
