Authorizer
The National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NASCA) is a nonprofit membership organization committed to developing and maintaining high standards for charter school authorizing. Our members are some of the largest charter school authorizers in the country and oversee more than half of the nation’s 5,000 charter schools.

Advocacy
The Michigan Association of Public School Academies (MAPSA) endeavors to provide leadership to advance quality and promote choice in education through chartered public schools and their supporters, offering every Michigan child an opportunity to learn.

The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools is the leading national nonprofit organization committed to advancing the charter school movement. Their goal is to increase the number of high-quality charter schools available to all families, particularly in disadvantaged communities that lack access to quality public schools. 

State/Federal
The Michigan Department of Education – Public School Academies Office provides quality support to charter public schools and their stakeholders through timely and accurate oversight and monitoring of charter public school grants, programs and related initiatives.

The U.S. Department of Education was created in 1980 by combining offices from several federal agencies. ED’s mission is to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access.
