School and Field Services

Regarding your questions about what the fall semester may look like, The Michigan Department of Education has not yet provided any guidance on the format for schools reopening in the fall. We are working under the assumption that the decisions made for teachers will also apply for student teachers and field students. Whether schools are back face to face, online, or hybrid, our plan at this time is for you to continue to work with your mentor teacher to learn the skills and dispositions necessary to become an effective teacher. We will continue to share updates with you throughout the summer as information becomes available.

You can be confident in knowing that we are moving forward to ensure your continued success. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out! We are here for you, always!

The office of School and Field Services arranges educational experiences in public schools for students who are enrolled in professional courses working toward teacher certification. Field placements are arranged to afford students depth, breadth and diversity of authentic learning experiences in schools.
