Biography
With a BA in Journalism from Franklin College, IN, and a MA from Indiana State University in English/Theater, Karen has taught courses in writing, communication, and theater. Her studies in journalism were focused in writing and editing, and for theater, she is trained in acting and directing. She studied as an intern in the Canadian Parliament for the Liberal Party under Jean Chretien, and locally, she has directed and served on the board for theater companies in and around Detroit. Since joining the Oakland University faculty in 2014, she has also been a summer CORE instructor for the Center for Multicultural-Initiatives.
