Christine Stover received her M.A. in Communication with a focus on Media studies from Wayne State University under the mentorship of Dr.Fred Vultee. There she studied media frameworks as they disseminate through digital platforms. At Wayne State she was a collaborator of several projects sponsored by the National Center for Food Protection and Defense.

Prior to teaching at Oakland University, Christine was an audio assistant for the School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts at Central Michigan University; where she also received a M.A. in Media Management in 2004. Her thesis; a content analysis, explored the USA PATRIOT Act’s coverage via major media outlets during its passage.

Christine is also a graduate of Oakland University. Earning her Bachelor of Arts (2002) in Communication, she was also a DJ and Public Service Director for WXOU, the student-run campus radio station and worked part time for OUTV, the University’s cable channel.

Christine serves as a departmental advisor for the Communication program, Faculty Advisor for Iota Eta (The Oakland University Chapter of the National Communication Association’s Undergraduate Honor’s Society), and teaches courses in Public Speaking, Audio Production, Persuasion, and Media Studies amongst several other course titles.

Christine was also Faculty Advisor for WXOU from 2004-2014.  During that time, she was recognized for her exceptional direction of the station earning the faculty advisor of the year award, and enjoyed watching the station win the Michigan Association of Broadcasters of College Station of the Year 2012-2014.

Christine resides in Sterling Heights with her husband, son, and three cats.  She enjoys animals, nature, camping, fine cuisine, true crime, and learning.
