Biography:
Professor Alfonsi started her nursing career in 2012 at Troy Beaumont hospital as a RN on a progressive care unit specializing in cardiac patients. After a year, she transferred to Troy Beaumont’s Family Birth Center where her love for obstetric nursing care began. Here, she managed the care of postpartum couplets and worked in the newborn nursery. After completing her Master’s degree at the University of Toledo, she began her career as clinical faculty where she cultivated a love for teaching. In 2019 she joined OU’s Simulation Lab as a simulation facilitator. She is still a part-time RN on the mother/baby unit at now Corewell Troy Hospital. She also teaches the course Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family for the ASD program. She is honored to teach in the program she graduated from in 2011.
