OIRA is responsible for publishing accurate vital statistics and reporting to state and federal education agencies. The published reports on this page serve as a mechanism for understanding Oakland University in relation to other colleges and universities across the country.
The Common Data Set (CDS) is a result of collaborative efforts "among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by The College Board, Peterson’s - a Thomson Learning Company, U.S. News & World Report, and Wintergreen/Orchard House. The CDS survey items have been designed to collect common or comparable data from colleges and universities."
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is an annual data collection administered by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) to all postsecondary institutions in the United States. IPEDS serves as a standardized source of information on institutional data including enrollment and admissions trends, graduation rates, human resources, student financial aid, institutional finances, and academic libraries.
