Janet Seidell

Janet Seidell is the senior manager of physical medicine and rehabilitation services at Beaumont Health overseeing physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy, and speech and language pathology. Janet is LEAN certified, a health coach, and an engaged leader utilizing evidenced-based and innovative approaches to patient care that is patient-family centered.
Janet’s clinical practice experience is acute care, outpatient and inpatient rehab. She is experienced in opening clinics and hospital units, going from 189 beds to a 520-bed hospital and 25 bed inpatient rehab unit and instituted transformational rehab programs for fall prevention, lymphedema, oncology, orthopedics, trauma, inpatient rehab, neuro/stroke, functional outcomes, COPD, emergency, observation units, cardiology and general medicine service line. Janet executes change management and has a collaborative record within rehab and the multidisciplinary team within a hospital system and in the community.
Janet is on the Rochester Community School’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Parent Network, partakes in the Rochester Chamber, and donates extensive volunteering and coaching at Holy Family Regional School.
Janet has been involved with Oakland University’s physical therapy program since 1997 as a lab assistant, research advisor, guest lecturer, clinical instructor and researcher. Janet enjoys creating connections and mentoring students in their career path and collaborates with PT faculty on clinical program development. Serving on the board is the next step to broaden her connections with Oakland University by advocating for and influencing the future for the School of Health Sciences.
