Faculty and Staff Resources

One of the most important ways that faculty can collaborate with the ASC is promoting the support services to their students. We are excited to partner with you in this effort by scheduling a visit to your class. Most often we visit classes and share a brief overview of services, including any specific support for your course. 

Workshops

Workshops are currently offered by request. We can facilitate topics ranging from time management and note-taking to learning and study strategies. 

If you are a faculty or staff member interested in hosting one of our workshops in a class or existing student gathering, we would love to connect. Reach out to us at asc@oakland.edu or submit a request. We typically require at least 2 weeks to accommodate most mini-workshop requests.

If you are a student looking for a workshop, we recommend signing up for a personalized academic coaching appointment.

Faculty support and involvement with the Academic Success Center (ASC) is central to student success. ASC Faculty Liaisons are key faculty members who are familiar with ASC programs and support them in their departments. They often help us recruit fantastic peer educators, promote relevant services to their colleagues and students, and coordinate effective services for their discipline.

We are always on the lookout for the next cohort of great tutors and student leaders to work with the ASC, and no one is better equipped to recommend knowledgeable students than faculty! Use this form to recommend students to us. When students apply for open positions, they must also request a faculty recommendation and would send you a link to this same form to submit your recommendation.
