DR. CHAUNDA L. SCOTT

Dr. Chaunda L. Scott is a professor of Human Resource Development, and Graduate Coordinator of the Human Diversity Inclusion and Social Justice Graduate Certificate Program in the Department of Organizational Leadership housed in the School of Education and Human Services at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She is also a recognized workforce diversity and diversity education expert. Her scholarly research and teaching interests are in human resource development, workforce diversity policies and practices, adult diversity education, eradicating societal racism, antiracism education and social justice practices.

Dr. Scott has published several diversity and workforce diversity focused co-edited and single authored books, articles, and book chapters. Most recently, she is a 2020 recipient of the Academy of Human Resource Development’s prominent R. Wayne Pace Book of the Year Award. To date, her research has been presented in global locales as Limerick, Ireland, Oxford, England, Beijing, China, Montreal Quebec, Canada, Cape Town, South Africa, and Washington, D.C to name a few. In addition to the above, Dr. Scott has been recognized as one of the Top 25 Education Professors in Michigan by Online Schools Michigan.

Most notable, Dr. Scott was granted a prestigious Fulbright Specialist Award that took her to Cape Town, South Africa where she engaged in diversity education research and teaching. She has also received the Educator of the Year Award from the Niagara Foundation – Michigan Chapter for her exemplary workforce diversity and diversity education work. In the area of community work, Dr. Scott serves as the secretary for Minnesota’s Black Community Project, a non-profit organization located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, her hometown, that highlights publicly the contributions and accomplishments of successful African Americans in Minnesota past and presently through educational programs, books, documentaries, articles, and interviews.
