Margaret Dimond, PhD
Margaret Dimond, PhD, is President and CEO of McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac MI. The hospital is a 338 teaching hospital. She was formally President and CEO of Ascension Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, MI
Margaret is an accomplished and well-respected health care leader with extensive experience in acute care, ambulatory and physician group environments within leading health care systems throughout Southeast Michigan. An intuitive and dynamic leader she has achieved success in organizational integration with a focus on strategic growth as well as leading diverse stakeholders to common goals. Margaret has a proven track record of increasing employee/patient satisfaction, combined with improving quality metrics and financial performance. She is an advocate for female leaders and is a sought-after speaker regarding women and business.
Margaret has also served as President and CEO of the Karmanos Cancer Hospital and President and CEO of the McLaren Medical Group, both within the McLaren Health System. She has held the position of Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Henry Ford Hospital Warren campus, and Vice President of Ambulatory Services for Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She also served in the position of Assistant Dean for the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and Physician Practice Plan.
Margaret earned her Bachelor of Arts from St Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, and a Master of Social Work from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. She has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Philosophy from Michigan State University. She was recently honored as a Distinguished Alumnae by the Michigan State University College of Social Sciences.
Margaret’s leadership extends beyond the walls of the hospital to several academic and community organization boards. She is the Board Chair for Leader Dog for the Blind, and a trustee of Olivet College, Mercy High School, and University of Detroit Jesuit High School. She is also a board member of Dearborn Federal Credit Union.
