Cedric Flowers
Cedric Flowers is the Vice President of Gas Operations at DTE Energy, where he oversees the company’s natural gas utility operations. In this role, he is responsible for managing all aspects of the natural gas system, including construction, transmission, distribution, storage, and planning, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. He leads initiatives aimed at improving operational systems, processes, and policies to maintain a high level of system integrity, safety, and performance.
Flowers joined DTE Energy in 2019 as Director of Major Enterprise Projects, where he played a critical role in managing and executing the company’s most significant gas initiatives. Flowers has been instrumental in managing large-scale projects, such as the $31 million Northern Michigan Reinvestment Project, the largest project in recent DTE Gas history. His extensive background in engineering, operations, and business leadership spans both publicly traded and privately backed energy companies. Prior to DTE, Flowers held senior roles at Marathon Petroleum, EdgeMarc Energy Holdings, and Range Resources. He also worked in research and development at Enteroptyx and DCP Midstream, gaining expertise in commercial and business development, operations, and engineering within the energy sector.
He is also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served with distinction before transitioning to the private sector.
Flowers holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Christian Brothers University and an MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology. He is also a veteran of the United States Air Force.
