Alecia Gabriel, Ph.D.

Dr. Alecia Gabriel is the co-founder, co-CEO, and Director of Curriculum Development for The Lab Drawer, a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) Ed-Tech company delivering hands-on kits to students in grades K-12 worldwide. The company's mission is to integrate arts into STEM education to foster innovative thinking and inspire students to pursue careers in STEAM fields.

With experience in project management, automotive and aerospace quality assurance, and management consulting, Dr. Gabriel is also the co-founder and Director of Curriculum Development for the Motor City STEAM Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on providing STEAM-related educational programs to minority and underprivileged students in Detroit and surrounding areas.

Dr. Gabriel’s dedication to STEAM education has earned her several awards, including the Excellence in STEAM Award from General Motors in 2020 and recognition as a 40 Under 40 Young Alumni Honoree in 2018 by Xavier University of Louisiana. In 2018, she was also recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business Magazine as a “Notable Woman in Manufacturing.”

Dr. Gabriel earned a BS in Biochemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Ph.D. in Bio-Organic Chemistry from Louisiana State University.
