Robert (Bob) E. Lee

Bob Lee is the former Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA, currently Stellantis). During his tenure, he also served as Head of Global Powertrain Coordination on the Group Executive Council (GEC), FCA’s top decision-making body outside its Board of Directors. In this role, he contributed to strategic planning, performance oversight, and key business decisions for the global organization. Lee retired from FCA in May 2019.

Lee has long been involved in academia and innovation, serving on Engineering Advisory Boards at Clemson, Oakland, and Ohio State Universities. He joined the Board of Enedym Inc., a McMaster University start-up specializing in next-generation switched reluctance motors and electrified powertrains, in July 2021. Additionally, he serves on the Technology Board at Husco International and the Advanced Energy Technologies External Advisory Council at Argonne National Laboratory.

Recognized for his contributions to engineering, Lee received the Benjamin G. Lamme Meritorious Achievement Medal from Ohio State University in 2014 and the SAE Franz Pischinger Powertrain Innovation Award in 2016. He is a founding member of SAE’s North American International Powertrain Conference and chaired its 2007, 2012, and 2017 events.

Lee holds an MBA from Michigan State University, an MS in Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University.
