Research/Scholarship:
Mrs. Guzzardo’s scholarly interests include pediatrics, patient education and promoting access and inclusion within health care education. She is particularly interested in developing effective educational strategies that improve health literacy and empower patients and families to actively participate in their health care. Mrs. Guzzardo values evidence-based approaches to improving patient outcomes, enhancing health care communication, and preparing future physician assistants to provide compassionate, culturally responsive and high-quality care. During her undergraduate education, she completed an Honors College thesis examining the etiology of Ebstein anomaly, a rare congenital heart defect, through a review of the scientific literature.
