Research/Scholarship:
Dr. Kuhlman’s research focuses on the use of diagnostic ultrasound to better understand musculoskeletal pathology, tissue characteristics and treatment response. Using ultrasound elastography, he examines tissue stiffness in individuals with various pathologies. His research also explores the effects of manual therapy interventions on blood flow and fluid and swelling changes using diagnostic ultrasound techniques. Additionally, his interests include investigating potential sources of musculoskeletal pain and exploring muscle activation and movement patterns to identify movement strategies that optimize muscle contraction using diagnostic ultrasound.
