Graduate Student Research Conference

All graduate students are cordially invited to submit an abstract for the 2025 Graduate Student Research Conference (GSRC) to be held on the morning of Friday, April 4, 2025.

The purpose of the Graduate Student Research Conference (GSRC) is to (1) Provide an opportunity for Oakland University graduate students to present your scholarly work in a peer-reviewed professional conference and (2) to help prepare students for post-graduate scholarly opportunities.

You are eligible to submit an abstract if you are currently a graduate student or if you have graduated since the last conference held in March of 2024.  Fellows and residents are not eligible to submit an abstract.

The deadline for submission is Sunday, January 19, 2025 by 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time. 

Submission types include:

  • Research Study
  • Case Study
  • Theory/Model
  • Program Evaluation
  • Quality Improvement Project
  • Community Project 
  • Creative Project
  • Systematic Review/Scoping Review

Each submission type MUST include the following sections and information regardless of submission type. The labels for each section MUST be present in the abstract.

  • Background
  • Purpose
  • Methods – (either research methods or methods used to develop a theory, model, program, or project)
  • Results - (either research results or description of the theory, model, program, or impact of the project)
  • Discussion and Conclusion

For additional guidance regarding the use of these sections, please access this abstract guidance document. Please check your name, co-authors names and the title. No changes can be made to the names and title once they are submitted.

Only completed projects will be accepted. Do not submit preliminary or projected results

The abstract is limited to 2000 characters, including the words Background, Purpose, Methods, Results, Discussion/Conclusion’, spaces and punctuation.

Submissions that do not adhere to the above guidelines or that are not submitted by the deadline will not be reviewed.

In early February, you will be informed if you have been selected to present at the conference.
