About the SON Student Retention and Success Coach

The OU School of Nursing is pleased to offer the support of Peg Kennedy, our dedicated Student Success Coach. Dr. Kennedy offers an affirming and inclusive space, providing individualized success planning, supportive guidance, and a safe environment for sharing and learning, all of which aim to empower students at all levels to succeed throughout the nursing program.

Dr. Kennedy is available for both in-person and virtual meetings (your choice), which you can self-schedule using the calendar link below. Her office is in 4087 HHB (on the 4th floor near the SIM lab).

Success Coaching offers support for students in key areas, including time management (i.e, how to manage coursework for multiple classes), student nurse mentoring, study techniques, methods for learning and retaining information, NCLEX-style test preparation, managing test anxiety, understanding nursing and medical terminology, and developing critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills. Additionally, the Success Coach can assist students in connecting with valuable university resources, such as Advising, the Academic Success Center, the SON Lab, the OU Counseling Center, and Disability Support Services.
