About the SON Student Retention and Success Coach

The Oakland University School of Nursing is proud to offer the dedicated support of Professor Peg Kennedy, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, our Student Retention and Success Coach. Professor Kennedy fosters an inclusive, supportive environment where students receive personalized guidance to help them thrive throughout the nursing program.

Professor Kennedy provides assistance in key areas such as student nurse mentoring, effective study techniques, strategies for retaining information, NCLEX-style test preparation, managing test anxiety, mastering nursing terminology, and enhancing critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills. She also connects students with valuable resources, including the SON Lab, Advising, the OU Counseling Center, the Academic Success Center, Disability Support Services, and more.
