Enrollment Confirmation
Each Fall/Winter semester, Oakland University will ask you to confirm your plans to take classes.
When you confirm your plans, it allows OU to accurately schedule and offer classes for all students. Your responses will help us determine class space availability, possibly opening up seats for students who may be on waitlists. This ensures that all students have the opportunity to take the classes they need, keeping them on track for graduation.
An OU Official email will be sent on December 3 to currently registered students. To confirm your Winter 2025 enrollment, simply visit the Action Items page in SAIL and select your option by January 1. Students who enroll after December 3 will receive a communication to confirm their enrollment approximately 1-2 weeks after registering.
In SAIL, you will see three options for confirming your classes:
- Yes, I plan to take Winter 2025 courses
Great, we look forward to seeing you in classes this winter! After you select this option, please make sure you are in good financial standing with the university. You can pay your balance in full with your own funds, through an OU payment plan, and using financial aid and/or external sources. - No, please drop me from all Winter 2025 courses
If you do not plan to take winter classes, please view helpful instructions on how to drop them. If you do not drop your classes, a staff member will do so approximately two business days after you select "No" in the survey. If you change your mind within these two days, please contact [email protected] so a staff member can assist; the system will not allow you to make any changes within this window of time. Please remember that you must be registered for at least one course credit to be eligible to live in on-campus housing. If you decide not to attend OU this semester and drop all your classes, you must also cancel your on-campus housing by submitting a contract release form online. - Not sure yet
If you select this option, please know that OU staff are available to assist you with any concerns you may have. Whether you need financial assistance, academic advising, counseling services or more, we have dedicated staff ready to help you in any way. Please refer to the resources below to get started.

Transcript
Welcome to Oakland University! This video will walk you through on how to confirm your enrollment. Each Fall and Winter semester, OU will ask you to confirm your plans to take classes.
When you confirm your enrollment, it allows OU to schedule and offer classes more accurately for all students. Your response helps us determine course seating availability and to better assist students who are on waitlists. This ensures that all students will have more opportunity to take the courses they need and stay on track.
There are three ways to access the enrollment confirmation survey. The first way is by using the link that you can find in your OU email inbox sent from Registrar Services. The second way to confirm your enrollment is by clicking the link on the Office of the Registrar webpage. The third way is clicking on registration, where you will automatically be prompted to confirm your enrollment.
The enrollment confirmation prompt looks like this and you can click the title to open it.
Once it is open in SAIL, you’ll see three different options for your response.
The first option is "Yes, I plan to take Fall classes"
If you choose this option, that’s great, and we look forward to seeing you in classes this semester! After you select this option, please make sure that you are in good financial standing with the university. You can view your ebill in your SAIL account and either pay your balance in full, set up an OU payment plan, or contact The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to discuss potential aid and any other questions about payment.
The second option is, "No, please drop me from all Fall classes"
If you choose this option, we ask that you please drop your classes through your SAIL account. If you don’t, a staff member will drop your classes approximately two business days after your response is submitted. During this time, you will not be able to change your answer, unlike the other two responses that can be revisited and changed at any time. If you wish to change your response of No, or need additional assistance, please contact us at [email protected]. Before dropping any course, please remember to contact both The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and your academic adviser to ensure that you’re making an informed decision. Also, keep in mind that all students have to be registered for at least one credit in order to live on campus. So if you drop all of your classes you also need to cancel any on-campus housing.
The third option is “Not sure yet"
If you choose this option, please know that OU staff are always available to assist with any concerns you may have. If you need financial assistance, academic advising, counseling services or anything else, we have dedicated staff ready to help you in any way they can, and you can refer to the resources on this web page to get started.
Once you have made your decision, go ahead and submit your enrollment confirmation by clicking the Save button and you’ll be all set.
Thank you for watching, and please feel free to reach out to the Office of the Registrar for any further assistance. We are always here and happy to help!
