Justin Riutta, M.D. received his medical degree from Wayne State University in 1999. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Royal Oak Beaumont, his fellowship in Cancer Rehabilitation at The University of Pennsylvania, and returned to Beaumont after his training in 2003. He has been the Director of Lymphedema and Breast Cancer Rehabilitation since 2004. He is national recognized as a leader in Cancer Rehabilitation and has been the President of the PM&R Cancer Rehabilitation Subspecialty group and has authored multiple chapters on Cancer Rehabilitation including the main chapter in our core PM&R textbook.

Dr. Riutta was the residency Program Director for PM&R at Royal Oak from 2011-2020. He serves as an Associate Professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He created and oversaw the M2 Musculoskeletal Course from 2010-2018. He still is very active with the residency and medical school. He has received awards as the top educator in the PM&R Department in 2008, 2012 and 2013. He also received the award for the Best Clinical Science Instructor Musculoskeletal Connective Tissue and Skin System from OUWB in 2013. Administratively, Dr. Riutta completed the Beaumont Physician Leadership Academy in 2016. He has been the Physician Lead for Rehabilitation Services for Beaumont Health since 2017. He has been strongly involved at an operational level at Royal Oak and recently served on the Ad Hoc Patient Safety and Quality Committee reporting to the Board of Beaumont Health. He also serves as a member of the Compliance and Risk Board Committee for Beaumont Health. He currently is pursuing his MBA from the University of Massachusetts and will be completing his degree in May 2023.
