Parent & Family Program
Welcome to the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine Parent & Family Program. As someone you care about embarks on the journey of an OUWB student, you too become part of a wonderful community that we call the OUWB family. The OUWB Parent & Family Program is committed to helping you participate in your student's experience at medical school and beyond. We believe an informed, supportive family aids your student in having an enriching and successful medical school experience.
Join the Parent & Family Program!
The OUWB Parent & Family Program brings together parents, grandparents, stepparents, extended family members, foster parents, and legal guardians of current, past, and future OUWB students. We will serve as the communication link and portal of resources between OUWB and family members. The OUWB Parent & Family Program hosts regional meetings as well as on-campus events, and more. The program is growing and we look forward to providing even more opportunities for involvement in the near future.

OUWB On the Road Parent & Family Program Receptions
Learn more about OUWB's accomplishments, what's on the horizon, and how to help your student be successful by attending one of these events. These dinners offer an opportunity to network with other family members and alumni, and ask any questions you may have. We will provide more information on each reception as it becomes available, and encourage you to join us if we are in your area!
Due to COVID-19, our in-person road trips have been put on hold for the 2021-2022 school year.
Join the OUWB HOST Program. Hosts are OUWB alumni and Parent Program members who volunteer to host a student visiting your area during residency interviews or away rotations. HOST volunteers help to offset the financial burden of traveling for residency interviews and away rotations by offering students housing, meals, transportation and/or insights on the area and medical community. As a host, you are truly helping a student as they prepare for life beyond medical school.
Due to COVID-19, our HOST program has been put on hold and the registration form is not available at this time.
