Help Desk Assistance 

The Help Desk team – Dawn Gorris, Fred Haydon and Adam Gordon – provides computer hardware, software and audio-visual support for OUWB medical students, faculty and staff members. The team is located in the Center for Medical Student Services at Suite 216 O’Dowd Hall. Help Desk support requests are submitted via the medhelp ticket system. If there is an immediate support need, please call 248-370-3695. The phone and voicemail is monitored Monday – Friday from 8am - 5pm.

For audio-visual support requests, a ticket should be submitted at least one week prior to the event to ensure coverage.

OUWB student printing is available in both the student lounge in O’Dowd Hall and in the Medical School Library.

(Must be on campus)

  1. Click the Wireless Icon on the Menu Bar 
  2. Select ‘Grizznet-Secure’
  3. Enter your email address (e.g. user@oakland.edu )
  4. Enter your ADMNET password (might be the same as your NetID password)
  5. Click Join 
  6. At the “Verify Certificate” window, click Continue to accept the * oakland.edu certificate 

    (Note: If a message appears stating “You are making changes to your Certificate Trust Settings”, enter your Mac login username and password.)

(Must be on campus)

  1. Click the Wireless icon in the system tray (lower right corner of the screen) 
  2. Select Grizznet-Secure 
  3. Click Connect 
  4. Enter your email address (e.g. user@oakland.edu ) 

  5. Enter your ADMNET password (might be the same as your NetID password)
  6. Click OK 

    (Note: If a Windows Security Alert box appears, click Connect.)

Adam Gordon
Help Desk Manager, OUWB

Adam Gordon serves as the Help Desk Manager for Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He has been with OU since 2012, beginning his career in Classroom Support and Instructional Technical Services as Manager of IT & Media Application Services, where he worked for thirteen years. Adam is a proud OU alumnus, with a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems

Dawn Gorris
IT Support Specialist

Dawn Gorris serves as a Helpdesk Technician for Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Dawn came to OU after providing technical support in a K-12 educational environment for ten years. Her experience includes computer hardware and peripheral support, webpage design and maintenance and application support and training. Prior to that Dawn worked as a data processing manager and technical support liaison for Electronic Data Systems and a data processing clerk for Ford Motor Company.

Fred Haydon
IT Support Specialist

fred-haydonFred Haydon serves as the Helpdesk Technician for Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. A Michigan native, Fred is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Technology. Fred comes to OU with 15 years experience as a Data Specialist, Helpdesk Technician and a Macintosh Workstation Manager.
