Rationale:

To ensure the health of students and provide fair and equitable access to educational resources for all students.

Scope and Applicability:

All students enrolled in the School of Medicine

Standard Practice Guideline:

Students experiencing environmental difficulties in laboratory activities (i.e. allergies) will be referred to the School of Medicine Office of Student Affairs for initial triage. Students will follow the necessary steps to obtain disability services (refer to the School of Medicine Disabilities Accommodations guidelines).

Procedures:

Students anticipating or experiencing environmental difficulties while engaged in learning experiences at OUWB or who have been previously diagnosed with environmental sensitivities, should schedule a meeting with the Assistant or Associate Dean for Student Affairs to review options for accommodation and processes for requesting those accommodations.  Students will be informed of the necessary steps to obtain disability services (refer to the School of Medicine Disabilities Accommodations guidelines) at Oakland University.
