Scope and Applicability:All students enrolled in the School of Medicine Rationale:Good academic standing should be clearly defined and communicated to students, faculty and staff because it is a standing requirement for application to and/or continuation of many scholarships, internships, externships, research opportunities, school-sponsored travel and class leadership positions. Definitions:Unremediated course failure: A course or clerkship with a posted grade of Fail that has not been successfully repeated. Standard Practice Guideline:Any unremediated course failure on a student record in any academic year or being placed on Probation or Suspension by the SPRC will remove a student from good academic standing. A single course or clerkship grade of Incomplete is not sufficient to remove a student from good academic standing.
Procedures:Students must request a verification of Good Academic Standing from the School of Medicine Office of Records and Registration.
