Announcing a new International affiliation for OUWB

The Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine is delighted to announce a new international affiliation with Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila, Philippines.

This extraordinary school of medicine was founded nearly 150 years ago. Both OUWB and UST look forward to bilateral exchanges of medical students in the M4 year and exchanges between faculty members.

Instruction at UST is in English and housing is available for students visiting UST from OUWB. A new hospital at UST is nearing completion and will enhance the educational experiences.

“I had the opportunity to visit UST late last fall and I met with the School’s leadership, members of the faculty, and with their medical students. We look forward to a productive partnership,” says OUWB Founding Dean Robert Folberg, M.D.

Funding for exchanges between UST and OUWB will be supported in part by the Ananias & Lourdes Diokno Fund for Beaumont Education Research Programs. Details about the exchange program should be available later this spring.
