Biography:
Dr. Schaefer, a Certified Public Accountant, also holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation. She has years of accounting industry experience working for several organizations including Deloitte and Delphi. Dr. Schaefer has taught at multiple institutions a variety of courses online and on campus at the graduate and undergraduate levels including financial and managerial accounting, intermediate accounting, financial reporting and analysis, auditing, accounting information systems, accounting fraud examination, advanced accounting, government and non-profit accounting, and business capstone.

Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting & Analysis, Fraud Examination

Research interests: 
Dr. Schaefer’s research interests include financial literacy, factors affecting retention in the public accounting industry, financial accounting, data analytics in accounting, security in accounting, fraud, and accounting systems.
